Oral Cancer in the Dental Chair: Prevention, Early Detection, and Patient Education

This webinar provides essential education for dental health professionals on the growing prevalence of oral and oropharyngeal cancers, with a focus on prevention strategies. Topics include the link between HPV infection—especially through oral sex—and rising cancer rates, the critical role of HPV vaccination and salivary diagnostics for HPV identification. We will also review the importance of tobacco cessation in prevention, as well as the critical significance of early detection in the dental office. Attendees will learn how to implement a 3- to 5-minute routine oral cancer examination during preventive visits, including the utilization of advanced fluorescence devices.
