Pre-Rinse with .2% Sodium Hypochlorite
The effectiveness of sodium hypochlorite as a pre-procedural rinse has been proven in multiple studies. At low concentrations of .1%, it inactivated pathogens in less than 60 seconds. CariFree Pre-Rinse Rinse is a .2% solution with sodium hypochlorite. See study below for reference.
PERSISTENCE OF CORONAVIRUSES ON INANIMATE SURFACES AND THEIR INACTIVATION WITH BIOCIDAL AGENTS
“Can be efficiently inactivated by surface disinfection procedures with 62-71% ethanol, 0.5% hydrogen peroxide or 0.1% sodium hypochlorite within 1 minute” (G. Kampf et al, J Hosp Infect. 2020 Mar; 104(3): 246-251).

Is this the same rinse as the Treatment Rinse?
Yes, the solution is the same. Just packaged in larger bottles for more convenient in-operatory use.
Can I send this home with my patient in place of Treatment Rinse?
It is not intended for at-home use and we do not have a protocol for it however, as a dental professional you can use off-label recommendations.
Why is the taste so strong?
To change a patient’s biofilm, a strong antibacterial is necessary. Sodium hypochlorite is the most effective at that and preserving pH to encourage healthy bacteria to repopulate.
We have some rinse leftover in Bottle A, can we buy Bottle B individually?
Unfortunately, we’re unable to sell either bottle of this two-part rinse alone. Bottle B is filled with the correct number of doses; any leftover rinse in Bottle A can be discarded.
Can I use this rinse as irrigation to treat periodontal disease?
It is not intended to be used as a perio treatment method however, as a dental professional you can use off-label recommendations and we have had customers who have been successful using it for that purpose.
